The government will impose a ban on gasoline exports from Russia for its producers starting April 1, 2026. This was reported by two sources from "Vedomosti" who are familiar with the outcomes of the meeting held on March 27 with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, which was later confirmed by the government's press service. One of the informants from "Vedomosti" specified that the ban will be effective until July 31, 2026.
The cabinet's statement notes that following the meeting, Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy to prepare a draft regulation on the prohibition of gasoline exports starting April 1, 2026, aimed at stabilizing prices and ensuring priority supply for the domestic market. At the meeting, oil companies confirmed the availability of sufficient reserves of gasoline and diesel fuel, as well as a high utilization rate of refinery capacities to meet domestic demand, as stated in the announcement.
